This piece is Psalm 51, but first set to music by Allegri around 1630. It is one of the finest and most popular examples of renaissance polyphony. The Desert Praises God

A mantle of red anemones turns the Negev desert red and announces in February the early arrival of spring in central-southern Israel. A display of nature that is also mentioned in the Bible: "The desert will flourish" says the prophet Isaiah.... remind us of God's power in the restlessness of the desert.
